Getting Started with Untouched
Learn how Untouched detects hand-to-face movements on your Mac, what its alerts mean, and the tool's limitations.
Thanks for choosing Untouched. This guide will help you get started and make the most of your experience.
What is Untouched?
Untouched uses your Mac's webcam to estimate hand-to-face movements and provide awareness alerts during computer use. It does not stop a movement automatically or determine whether a touch is intentional, harmful, or related to skin picking.
Treat each alert as a detection result, not a diagnosis or judgment. The app can miss movements and alert on ordinary activities, and it does not guarantee behavior or skin changes.
Key Features
- Movement Detection - Uses on-device computer vision to estimate hand-to-face proximity via your webcam.
- Gentle Notifications - Provides subtle alerts without disrupting your flow.
- Event Tracking - Review the movements the app detected over time.
Getting Started
- Download and install the app.
- Grant camera permissions; the live webcam feed is processed on your device.
- Let it run in the background while you work or browse.
- Observe whether notifications are useful and review missed or unwanted alerts.
Our Philosophy
Untouched is designed around:
- Awareness - Gentle reminders when the action occurs.
- Records - Reviewing detected events without treating them as a complete or exact behavior count.
- Camera privacy - Processing the live webcam feed locally and storing detection screenshots on your Mac, as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Transparency page.
The app requires camera access to function. According to Untouched's Privacy Policy, live webcam processing happens locally, screenshots remain on your device, and webcam-related data leaves only when you explicitly submit false-positive footage. These are owner statements about the current product's data handling.
